EssembraWe met with Captain Hern this morning. He didn't seem especially happy to see Thanos and I, but at least he was hospitable.
Bock explained to him, in an extremely disjointed and unorganized fashion, the entire reason we were here, going all the way back to Captain Ikaemos' murder. I almost fell asleep during his lecture. And it's not because I've heard the full story several times now.
Lilinthra explained to the Captain the information that she learned at her ceremony, including the return of Bane and the march of the Zhents.
Captain Hern said that due to recent activity, both on part of the Drow and the Zhents, the Riders have been stretched thin. This is part of the reason the traitor was able to join their ranks. In his words, they were perhaps too "overzealous" in admitting new members to the Riders. The Captain said that he will alert Shadowdale and Battledale of the new problems, but said that he would not expect Mistledale to last long in a confrontation should the drow attack in mass.
We also learned from the Captain that all of Ashabenford's normal suppliers have disappeared; they are entirely beholden to the Zhents for supplies. This, of course, is intolerable, and must be resolved.
Amra is going off to scout for more drow and Zhent activities. Hopefully, she will find something that will allow us to stop them easily.
The rest of us are returning to investigate the ruins beneath Galath's Roost. There is some suspicion that Bane may have more of a presence below. There is, however, supposed to be a fantastic treasure somewhere in the ruins, and I do believe I would rather have the treasure in our hands, rather than in the hands of those who worship Bane.
We spent the rest of the day gathering supplies, and will head out to Galath's Roost early tomorrow morning.

Near Galath's RoostOn our way to the Roost, we ran into five ogres blocking the path. We removed them from the road without much difficulty, though they did prove to be a challenge for the halflings, and were drawn like a magnet towards Thanos.

Galath's RoostWe arrived at Galath's Roost without further incidents, and after determining that no one else had been there since we left, we commenced clearing the rubble so we could get downstairs.
