That druid reincarnated Agnar as a very attractive - almost alluring - female human. I dunno if that helped his brains any, but she's a far sight better to look at. A little slow on the whole dead-and-now-alive bit, though. I had to point out the stain on the floor that was Agnar several times. But I guess death does that to you. I wouldn't know. I try to avoid it.
Agnar also seemed a little too preoccupied with her new breasts. Kept playing with them for like five minutes before she realized that she was just standing there in a room, naked, with five people and three corpses watching her.
The look on her face when she realized this was priceless, though. And Dugen's jaw was practically on the floor the whole time.
Morons. Act like they've never seen a dead person come back to live before.
Well, ok. Maybe they haven't.
Amateurs.
Anyway. I gave the heart thing to the elf, just to get him to shut up about how it meant everything to his people and how breaking it would trigger the end of the world and all. Man, if he hadn't shut up, I think I'd have broken the thing just to see what would have happened.
By this time, Agnar came to her senses. She concocted a cover story - prisoner of the dragon - and decided to go by the name of Agatha Phoenix.
Phoenix. Gah. Can you get any more cliche?
So we went back to the ship. On our way out, we rescued a bunch of pregnant captives, who chose to stay on the island. Agatha agreed to buy them a bunch of basic supplies with part of the dragon's horde, and we left.
The ship right back to Vindelae should have been uneventful. I won a game of darts against the captain and Gryk. Spent some time hanging around the ship's crew showing them the tricks of the trade. They, likewise, showed me some of theirs.
So I said the trip should have been uneventful. Seems that Agatha decided to flirt with the captain, and she narrowly averted his attempted rape by nearly killing him with her sword. At least, that's what she claims. I'm having a hard time believing this, but, whatever. The captain's been down in the hold yelling and screaming and ranting and raving about that "bitch who set me up". I suspect Agnar figured out how to use his new female body to a new effective advantage.
Now that I think of this, I think I trust her even less than I did before. She's really going to be more trouble than she's worth.
And when it's that time of the month...
Ugh. I don't even want to think it.
So we make it back to Vindelae, and this massive funeral procession is arranged for Agnar's body. After the circus is complete, I revered back to info gather mode and tried to learn what I could about Vindelae, under the assumption that I'd stick around and help Agryk run the island in Agnar's stead.
Things got all messy, with at least half a dozen different factions wanting different things now that control of the island was up for grabs. Things only got worse when it was discovered that Agnar did indeed have an heir he didn't know about - some four year old brat who is too young to rule, so his mother gets to do it instead.
She arrived and immediately started making trouble for Gryk. It was at this point we decided it was in our best interests to blow the entrance to that great spiral shaft ruin and flee the island.
This would have worked, had the demolition expert's facilities not been confiscated by Agnar's heir's mother under the guise of it being vital for security or some garbage like that.
Right now, we're preparing to go in and raid the facility, get the equipment we need, and get off the island before there's more trouble to be had. And they'll be needing my skills to get in and out safely.
I try not to break laws where I go. It's bad for business. In this case, I'll have to make an exception, since it seems unavoidable. I just hope we get out in once piece, and Agatha changes her mind and reclaims her rightful rule of Vindalae.
Ah. They're ready for me now. Time go go...
