Cephrim Ba explained the situation: he had come to the conclusion that when the time came for him to step down, he would not be able to fairly choose a guardian to replace him, and even if he was able to, he was certain that the one not chosen would never be able to accept the decision. So he decided to remove himself from the picture for a period of time and see what would happen. He was hoping that Deln Pria and Tames Ton would work together and come to an understanding, but after months of stalemate, he used the party to prod the two apprentices into resolving their differences.
Cephrim explained to the party that their missing comrade, Arterich, is fine and unharmed, and on a quest in the waking world. He will meet up with the party after they leave Dreamscape. He apologized for the deception, but he needed to use someone as bait, and after speaking with Arterich in his dreams, decided it would be best if Arterich was the "victim."
As a result of their assistance, Cephrim Ba tells the party he is giving them three magic items. The first, which is given to the party immediately, is a ring of dreamcatching, which when used in Dreamscape allows the wearer to find the dream bubble of a person dreaming, which can be used to bring the person into Dreamscape. The other two items, which are hidden in the waking world, are a ring of waking sleep, which allows the wearer in the waking world to communicate to any other sleeping individual; and a scroll of creation, which can be used grant someone additional competence in the creation of an item by showing them a completed specimen created in Dreamscape.
As a final ability, Cephrim Ba bestows on each member of the party the ability to enter Dreamscape at will while they are asleepo. The party thanks Cephrim Ba for the items, and leaves the guardian fortress to return Tree Top to conclude their affairs before returning to the waking world.
Back in Tree Top, Blayne decides to start a temple for Loki in Dreamscape. She sells copius amounts of information to the Library (for which she recieves a tapestry for her temple) and the Thieves Guild (who give her land and agree to build a temple on the spot).
Tammoh donated the (otherwise worthless, to him) spellbook he recieved from the librarians to Blayne's church, and instructed the shield guardian to protect the church from any attack (by doing only non-lethal damage, however). The controlling amulet for the guardian he placed in a safe box in the Keeper's Guild.
With their business in Dreamscape complete, the party left, and returns to the waking world...
