This was submitted to Slashdot around April Fool's Day 1999, but was rejected. Oh well...
So my friends are playing the April Fool's edition of You Don't Know Jack, The Netshow. A question came up regarding the REM song "It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)."
It was then revealed to us that many of the world's religions have agreed that the Apocalypse will occur not on May 31, 1999, nor on January 30, 2000, nor on September 9, 1999, but will instead occur on December 8, 1999. This has been revealed by a group of many religious scholars (according to You Don't Know Jack) after consulting The Bible, The Koran, The Torah, and other such religious texts.
It was then suggested that we write this on my Dilbert page-a-day calendar. When we turned to the page for December 8, we were greeted by a cartoon featuring Ratbert and Death.
It is very kind of Scott Adams to give us the extra comics although he obviously knew that they would not be needed on the days for which they were meant.
Thanks to Matt, Omar, and Danielle for playing YDKJ and finding this interesting fact. No thanks to Josh, because he left the room to finish his CMSC214 project. You can also go to my page, but I don't know why you would want to do that. We also have a humorous online drama/comedy/waste-of-time, "The Whiners", which you might find amusing. Or not.
