ICMP Logger

ICMP Logger 1.0.1

What does this program do?
Quite simply, this program records any incoming ICMP packets. It records the IP the ICMP came from, its size, and the time it arrived and saves it into a log file. You can also have it play a sound when it detects a ping. (You can set the sound in the preferences window.)

Why do I need it?
If you're a network server administrator, IRCop, or anyone else who thinks they might be pingflooded, ICMP Logger will give you all the information you need to track down those behind denial of service attacks.

What does it require?
Open Transport and a live internet connection.

Can it run on Mac OS X?
No. Mac OS X Public Beta has a bug that prevents the Carbon version of ICMP Logger from operating properly. This problem has since been fixed in Mac OS X 10.0, however, there is another problem that prevents receiving ICMP packets that did not originate on the host machine.

How much does this cost me?
ICMP Logger is free.
